Connective Tissue Massage -
John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release is considered to be the ultimate therapy that is safe, gentle, and consistently effective in producing results that last. Fascia is a thin, flexible, connective tissue that surrounds and supports every organ, muscle, nerve, blood vessel, and bone in the body. When fascia is healthy, it's smooth and slippery and it stretches with movements. However, fascia can thicken, dry out, and become sticky, which can limit mobility and cause pain. The therapist may use their broad hands, knuckles, elbows, or forearms to gradually elongate the fascia. And then, with minimal pressure and lots of patience, the fascia will "unwind" itself.
Trigger point therapy, neuromuscular massage, and deep tissue release involve locating ischemic adhesions in the tissues and applying consistent pressure. The fascial tissues are then kneaded and stretched repeatedly to restore movement and relieve pain.
